Where Does Calcium Carbonate Come From?

400 million years ago, the calcite skeletons of tiny sea creatures called coccoliths collected on the ocean floors. Over time, continual collisions and folding of the earth’s crust, generating extreme pressure and temperature transformed these skeletal deposits into the high grade, pure white limestone from which our products are made. CRC’s quarries have reserves projected to last more than 75 years.  The identification, exploration and acquisition of additional mineral reserves with geographic advantages is an ongoing part of CRC’s commitment to its customers.
