Ground calcium carbonate plays a very important role in the polymer industry, improving sustainability, increasing productivity, and optimizing costs. In some plastics production, up to 60% of the polymer content can be replaced with mineral fillers, significantly reducing carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels.
The addition of MICRONA™ ground calcium carbonate as an extender of resin in PVC pipe manufacture increases productivity and improves functionality such as impact strength.
Modern vehicles rely heavily on engineered thermoplastics. Our MICRONA™ calcium carbonate additives enhance automotive plastics by improving mechanical properties, surface finish, and processing efficiency while also supporting lightweighting and cost-saving.
Products
In municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, our AquaCal™ range offers a safe, cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative for lime, caustic soda, sodium bicarbonate and magnesium hydroxide. In the activated sludge process, our products buffer pH and add bicarbonate alkalinity, creating a better environment for bacteria while producing more stable bioflocs. In industrial wastewater pre-treatment, our products rapidly adjust and buffer pH to a neutral state. Calcium carbonate has a significantly lower carbon footprint for both production and acid neutralization.
Calcite granules are used for pH and alkalinity adjustment and remineralization in potable water treatment. Our Puri-Cal™ products are made from high purity limestone, certified to the global standard NSF 60.
