About Columbia River Carbonates

Established in 1985, Columbia River Carbonates is a joint venture between Omya and Bleeck Management Inc.

Omya and Bleeck Management are family-owned businesses with generations of experience in the development and production of industrial and agricultural minerals.

Omya, founded in Switzerland in 1884, operates in over 50 countries and is a leading global producer of essential minerals and a worldwide distributor of specialty materials. Established in 1850, Bleeck Management has 175 years’ expertise in quarrying and processing minerals.

High quality deposits for future generations

Columbia River Carbonates’ headquarters and production facility are in Woodland, WA. Our Calder quarry, located on Prince of Wales Island, was acquired in 2010. It is a world-class marble deposit with exceptionally pure, bright white stone. Its proven ore reserve is expected to last into the next century. We design and plan blasts to maximize raw material recovery while adhering to strict quality standards.

The recent completion of our state-of-the-art barge unloading and blending facility on the Columbia River allows stone to be transported by barge directly from the Calder quarry to be offloaded in Woodland, Washington. This new facility enables us to control our entire raw material supply chain while reducing carbon emissions.
